Church Emergency Response Team "CERT"

Emergency Responders will be known as the HPFB Church Emergency Responder Team " CERT".  This team is comprised of volunteers from First Baptist that have organized to provide assistance when available/present for on site emergencies (illness or accident) until outside assistance arrives.  In most cases, each of these team members has a medical or emergency responder background. All volunteers have, or will obtain and maintain appropriate certification in First Aid, CPR (adult and child), Automated External defibrillator (AED - adult and child), and in-house training as required.

This team will have some basic responder equipment, which includes an AED that may be used in the event of sudden cardiac arrest. AEDs are very accurate and will not shock someone who is NOT in cardiac arrest.

Women's Ministry Team

Women's Ministry Team addresses issues directly related to the discipleship development of the women of FBC. They also oversee the development of Bible studies, fellowships, conferences, etc., related to issues specific to women.

Wheel Chair Ramp Ministry

This ministry is made up of volunteers who are available to build wheel chair ramps for those families in the Honea Path area that need them.  There is no charge for this service, all costs are covered by donations and voluteer labor.

Watchman Prayer Ministry

has been used by hundreds of churches in our nation to involve thousands of Christians in a joint effort to pray for revival and spiritual awakening." This is a practical approach to prayer which makes it possible for every church member and friend of FBC to participate. It is a Call to the Wall. As watchmen, we have made a commitment to pray for one hour each week.  It is our goal to have 168 watchmen praying each week. It can be any hour of the day or night.  We just ask that you honor the hour you have chosen.  We must strive to be faithful.   A guide teaching you how to pray for an hour is mailed to each watchman.  It is amazing how quickly the hour goes by when you get serious with God. A friend said, "I don't think I could make it if it were not for the Watchman Prayer Ministry."  It is a vital part of our ministry and God has used it to bless others. Everyone is invited to participate from 16 years of age and older. However, we will not turn anyone away who has an earnest desire to pray for revival and spiritual awakening for our church, our community, our nation and our world. "Men may spurn our appeals, reject our message, oppose our arguments, despise our persons, but they are helpless against our prayers." Quote from Sidlow Baxter. Everyone is invited to participate in this ministry.  Call the church office at 369-2818.

DVD Ministry

Sunday morning services at First Baptist Church are recorded on DVD from the beginning until the end of the service. Upon request, our homebound church members are given a DVD so they have the opportunity to enjoy the service in the comfort of their own home. Anyone who desires to purchase a DVD may place and order.  We ask for a donation to the ministry of $5.00 per DVD.  Contact the church office for further information.
